Hi Shane. I just purchased my first power assist graver by Steve Lindsay. I purchased it from Rio. Unfortunately, no one has a specific information about the connections to the compressor. So how do I take this system and connect it to my silent air compressor? After two weeks of digging and talking to my friends that jewelers and stone setters; I have found that each one of them had handpiece failures because no one recommended a 3 stage filter that’s fairly inexpensive. Everything all together is still less expensive than GRS.

Hi Mark, thank you so much for this incredible video! You do such a great job at teaching and explaining things in a simple easy to understand way much appreciated! I realize this video is quite old but I’m hoping someone can answer my question: I learned in the comment section that you were using number two argentum silver triangle wire and what I wondered is that the same wire that you hammered with the dead blow hammer? In the video it looked like the wire you were hammering was flat wire.? Thank you again for this amazing video! I’ll definitely be watching it over and over again. 🙏🏼😊👍🏼

Thanks for the question! Yes, the bracelet being made here uses the number 2 triangle shaped Argentium wire. Currently we we carry Argentium triangle wire in sizes 1 and 1.5, which are both slightly larger than what Mark is using in this video. www.riogrande.com/product/argentium-silver-triangle-wire-dead-soft/108750GP/?code=108751 Another option would be to use sterling silver triangle wire, which is available in 10 different sizes, including the size 2 that is used here. www.riogrande.com/product/sterling-silver-triangle-wire-dead-soft/100602GP/?code=100602

I'm a complete novice bench jeweler. I am taking a diploma course through New York Institute of Art & Design by Penn Foster. I'm working on my project, making an ID bracelet. I am to shape the links for the bracelet myself. The wire I am to use is 14 gauge brass wire. This wire is very difficult to bend with my round nose pliers, and is even worse using my stepper pliers. Of course, the course has taught me about annealing, but I wasn't sure how to go about it. There are no videos in the course. This video is very helpful. Thank you for making it. However, I do have one question. Can a butane torch be used to do the annealing?

I have a project which is at an impasse, More my limitations then anything else, I have a silver refining shop at my home in St. Michaels, MD where I refine scrap sterling silver to .999 fine . Starting with nitric acid boil, plating out with copper, melting the silver cement into shot and then 10 days in the electrolytic silver cell. This pure silver crystal stock is great for casing bars, I usually do 5 and 10 oz bars and logo and hallmark them. This has gone well and I have no issue with making bars. My next quest is to manufacture fractional rounds, and that's where I'm running into issues , I'd like to have you do a consult for helping me come up with a good system for making good quality ingot stock to roll constant strips. I'm clearly overworking my stock by rolling it to death and yes I'm Annealing it as needed, but I'm starting with a an ingot that is too thick and not consistent. Is this something that you might be able to help me solve? A phone call would explain the issues better, anyway let me know your initial thoughts, Not looking for any freebies just problem solving. Best Craig
